SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud is a real-time ERP system that is not operated in your own data center, saving you internal IT costs. As a SaaS model (Software as a Service), SAP takes care of the infrastructure, maintenance and support. New updates are made available on a quarterly basis. This means that user companies benefit from the latest innovations and developments every three months. The system is operated in the German SAP data centers and used via the Internet. This eliminates the effort and costs for hardware, database, IT resources, server capacities and maintenance for the user.

SAP Activate Methodology is a special implementation method from SAP that guides you through the entire project with associated tools and instruments. It promotes collaboration with the customer, transparency in every project phase and overcoming tasks and challenges.
1. Discover: the customer is presented with the functions and possibilities of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud product and is guided through the “Digital Discovery Assessment” tool. The tool is used to evaluate in advance whether the SAO S/4HANA Public Cloud ERP suite is an option for the company.
2. Prepare: In the Prepare phase, the project objective, project scope and project plan are defined, among other things. The roles in the team are assigned and the starter system is activated. A kick-off meeting is held and the fit-to-standard analysis, which follows in the next phase, is prepared.
3. Explore: The fit-to-standard analysis takes place in this project phase. Fit-to-standard workshops are held in the individual areas (FI, CO…) with the previously selected functions & best practices. In this context, it is determined whether the customer processes can be mapped with the SAP standard or whether the software solution needs to be adapted to the business requirements. Special customer requirements are identified as deltas, discussed and recorded in a backlog document. Especially since SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud is highly standardized and does not allow any modifications and configurations in the core, the fit-to-standard analysis is an elementary project component for the success of the project.
4. Realize: In the Realize phase, the focus is on designing and testing the system landscape, naturally based on the configurations and processes previously defined with the customer.
5. Deploy: The productive landscape is set up, the system is prepared for go-live, system tests and data migration are completed. There is a switch from the previous system to the new system.
6. Run: The run phase is “ongoing”. Here, optimizations continue to be made to the software system, quarterly updates are imported from SAP and continuous learning takes place.
SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud is a highly standardized ERP variant. It offers the advantages of keeping the digital core clean, remaining agile and being able to use new technologies directly. The solution is based on SAP HANA database technology.
SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud therefore takes over all the functions of this powerful in-memory data management and application platform. These include intelligent text mining, predictive analyses, simulations and powerful decision support with access to all types of data in real time. The most important functions of SAP HANA include application services, processing services, integration services and database services.
