SAP Joule is the ERP software provider’s relatively new AI assistant, which was unveiled at the end of September 2023. It is based on generative artificial intelligence, similar to its better-known counterpart ChatGPT. Joule is based on a language model developed by SAP itself. SAP Joule is available to all users who utilize SAP cloud solutions. RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP, in particular, will be equipped with the new co-pilot. Artificial intelligence is already available in SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Start, as well as in SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Public Edition). In the next steps, the system will also be rolled out in SAP Customer Experience, SAP Ariba, and the SAP Business Technology Platform. Unfortunately, users of SAP’s on-premise solutions will miss out – there will be no changes to the range of functions for them.
